E-lite takes the view that, in many cases, consulting and training projects are more efficiently and effectively undertaken by a cohort of one or two highly experienced, motivated individuals rather than by a large expensive team, whose individual members may have only limited input to the project's progress. Furthermore, the E-lite approach ensures that the client and the client's own staff have a high degree of ownership of the project.

The managing director, Peter Halliday, is a former assistant commissioner of the Hong Kong Police Force, which he served for over 35 years. His career covered the whole spectrum of operations, support, training, administration and staff duties. As the force's chief information officer from 1996 to 2003, Dr. Halliday oversaw the Force's first two five-year information systems strategies. These major undertakings included the development of the largest managed data network in Asia and other integrated information platform; over 30 information systems large and small.
